Description:Harmonia is a small and growing company in search of individuals excited about pushing the boundaries of technology. We are seeking Software Architect to join our software development group.
Duties:• Provide overall technical leadership in research, analysis, design, and implementation of solutions for challenging problems.
• Participate in product design and planning and provide conceptual and functional design of the products.
• Provide high-level analysis and design reviews to other members and teams to avoid duplication of efforts in solving the same application problem within different products.
• Evaluate new technologies and software products to determine feasibility and desirability of incorporating their capabilities within the company's products.
• Acquire the necessary technical and business knowledge and perform technology and product research and evaluation to support software developments needs.
• Mentor other team members and developers.
• Work in a team environment and share knowledge.
• Create high quality design and architecture documentation.
• Proactively enforce standards and best practices.
Qualifications:• 8+ years of prior professional experience in system design, design methodologies, design patterns and architecture of large and complex software/web systems.
• Broad knowledge and experience of all layers of the modern IT technology stack, including hardware, operation systems, network, application frameworks, database systems, vendor solutions and industry trends.
• Working knowledge of network security, data protection and encryption, secure application and other best security practices.
• Experience with UML modeling, Rational tools, DoDAF, SysML or other modeling tools.
• Design, architecture and implementation experience using any of the following technologies: Adobe Flex, AJAX, .NET, J2EE, JMS/ MQ, XML, Spring, Struts, Hibernate, Web Services, SOA, PKI.
• Experience with one or more of the following application servers: WebLogic, WebSphere, Glassfish, Oracle Application Server, JBoss, Windows Application Server.
• Experience working with relational databases and XML databases.
• Track record of meeting goals and achieving deadlines on both team and individual projects, and the ability to work in an aggressive, fast paced environment with evolving requirements.
• Work well in a team environment with minimal supervision.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to author technical papers and reports.
• Experience bringing a software product from development to market.
• Prior DoD and DOE project experience a plus.
• 4-year college degree in Computer Science or related field,
• Due to the nature of our work, must be US citizen. Ability to obtain or have security clearance.
