Description:GridPoint, Inc. is seeking a professional individual to join our Commercial & Industrial division whose main focus is the development and support of our leading-edge energy management technology. The Data Analyst will gather and provide valuable information that is utilized by both clients and across several internal functional areas. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a small team environment and can utilize creativity and analytical skills to effectively provide customer reports.


Duties:Responsibilities
Billing Data
• Gather and scrub Electric and Natural Gas billing data for 12-24 months prior to EMS installation for weather normalization baseline
• Update monthly in order to provide savings reports to clients
o Remind customer/PM to send new bills
o Retrieve new bills from website when accessible
• Compile bills in correct format in order to upload into database for automated Savings Report generation
Alarms
• Work with client and project manager to determine which monitored points (if any) will need alarm capabilities
o Establish criteria for ‘alarm’ state
o Coordinate with engineering team to develop accurate algorithms for needed alarms
• Determine how alarms will be handled
o Who will receive alarm notification?
o Will there be various levels of alarm notification?
o Communicate alarm info to engineering for proper implementation
Reports
• Savings Reports
o Weather Normalized
o Period-to-Period Comparison
• Metering Verification: identification and verification of billing discrepancies
• Retrofit Savings
o Work with client to determine impact of operational changes to energy spend
• Ad Hoc Reporting
o Develop new reports as needed based on client feedback
o Use reports to identify & implement opportunities for energy reduction & cost savings
o Measure the results of any changes made based on reports
o Query database using SQL server
Load Profile Analysis
• Verify LP data coming back from system makes sense for facility & equipment being monitored Identify possible operational changes to improve energy efficiency
• Monitor LP data for any changes in operations, lighting or HVAC performance
Site Verification
• Communication
o Query sites to identify loss of contact and investigate how contact can be reestablished
Research & Development
• Collaborate with engineering department
o Develop new and improve existing alarm algorithms
o Communicate reporting formats to engineering to be automated
o Communicate application needs to engineering for development and implementation
Other
• Carry out any other appropriate duties and responsibilities assigned by the position supervisor
Qualifications:Qualifications

• 4-year college degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 2 years experience in data analysis, financial analysis or technical services analysis environment
• Experience in electrical utility and/or energy industry preferred
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Possess an autonomous, “take-charge” attitude; able to work under pressure and with minimum supervision
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, ACCESS, SQL Database, and Internet
• Certified Measurement & Verification Professional preferred (CMVP) but not required
