Description:GridPoint, Inc. is seeking a professional individual that would enjoy working in a dynamic environment within a leading Smart Grid company. The primary focus of the System Operations Control Systems Software Engineer is to offer broad engineering support on GridPoint's Energy Management Systems (EMS). GridPoint's EMS is currently deployed in several Fortune 500 companies providing an innovative power management and control solution. Our System Operations team offers exposure to several different technologies with the option to work on a wide variety of projects. Preferred candidates should be self starters and innovators that enjoy problem solving in a strong team environment.

Duties revolve primarily around remote and on-site support and troubleshooting of GridPoint's EMS. Additional duties include development of test fixtures, conducting internal training, documentation review and development and site installation engineering review. Some travel is required to perform on-site inspections, installer audits and to provide on-site core expertise in troubleshooting and resolving issues. Strong communication skills, organization and leadership skills are needed to resolve issues effectively with non-GridPoint technicians and trades.

Duties:Support of Monitoring and Control Systems
• Operational analysis and support of in-service monitoring and control systems
• Trouble-shooting and repair of software, firmware, and hardware problems
• Analysis, development, testing, and deployment of software and firmware
• Engineering support of in-service systems, including installation assistance, trouble-shooting and on-site test and inspection
• Gather product/system requirements from various internal and external stake-holders
• Develop equipment installation and operating manuals
• Technical interface to customers and other parties
• Prepare engineering specifications and documentation
• Validation and system integration testing
Other
• Assist with training and professional development of other employees and contract installers
• Work closely with Development Engineers to create product test stations and standards
• Customer site inspection for energy management control opportunities
• Carry out other technology and business support as may be assigned by the position supervisor
Qualifications:Education
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Software, or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent education and training
Desired Experience
• 2 years developing or supporting software/firmware systems
• C, .NET, SQL or other software development expertise
• Must have excellent communication skills
• Must be able to work in a close team environment
Travel
• Up to 25% travel time may be required
